Can I change to resolution/file size on my iPhone 6 Plus camera?

I found this while working on an app. As a developer you can call the available camera resolutions and build tools for the camera to switch between resolutions. For example, Iphone 6 has 3264 x 2448, 1280 x 720, 3264 x 1836. I guess for optimum storage one would go for 1280 x 720. As far as I can see, I can also set the quality (e.g. 60/100, 85/100)

There are so many camera apps out there, I am sure most of them would have the options anyone would look for.

Well, one option is to take a shot via other app, Whatsapp for instance. Then send it to your phone no. that saves it to Photos. But it's kinda ********. Personally, I swapped from Android and that was a mistake. Macbooks rock but iPhone is a real bummer. It's way behind Android... A pity!

I bought the iPhone 8 Plus recently and there is still no option to change the camera resolution available.

It seems it is awfully convenient for Apple that people run out of space and have to pay for expensive iCloud storage, to use as their off-phone image storage. That’s what I ended up doing years ago already....

Except for the video and slo-mo, I don't think so.

So you can change the setting of the vid recorder but NOT the camera...

The pixel size of the photos of the first iPhone cameras was so poor, it was not necessary to reduce it further. Probably Apple forgot to add this feature, after the iPhones with a better camera came out. As a work-around, try to use the front camera. It still has a smaller pixel size than the back camera. Only it requires some dexterity to take a picture with the front camera, without occluding the camera and making a selfie.

I find it unbelievable that iphone 6 users can not change the camera's resolution size. I'm having issues with uploading photos to the internet because the resolution/file size is too large.

you would think so right? but in fact none of them have this simple option. and yes i'm daring you to prove me wrong.
