Can I change to resolution/file size on my iPhone 6 Plus camera?

I use my phone's camera for my job where I sometimes need to take a good many photos. I also take some short vids and I keep having trouble running out of storage space. (I've deleted everything I can and made sure the files are deleted from the "trash" bin)

These pics don't have to be super high res or even all that large in size so I would like to know if there is a setting somewhere that I can use to change the size/quality of the still pictures.

(I'm aware that the vids can be changed but those need to stay at least decent in quality)

Any assistance that can be lent will be most appreciated.

Thank you!

I found this while working on an app. As a developer you can call the available camera resolutions and build tools for the camera to switch between resolutions. For example, Iphone 6 has 3264 x 2448, 1280 x 720, 3264 x 1836. I guess for optimum storage one would go for 1280 x 720. As far as I can see, I can also set the quality (e.g. 60/100, 85/100)

There are so many camera apps out there, I am sure most of them would have the options anyone would look for.

Good grief..!! That is ridiculous!

So you can change the setting of the vid recorder but NOT the camera...

Apple has a lot of good ideas but this is certainly NOT one of them!

Considering their total available memory already S.U.C.K.S compared the similar Androids.... setting up their camera to only take/make large picture files was REALLY stupid! 😠😠😠

The pixel size of the photos of the first iPhone cameras was so poor, it was not necessary to reduce it further. Probably Apple forgot to add this feature, after the iPhones with a better camera came out. As a work-around, try to use the front camera. It still has a smaller pixel size than the back camera. Only it requires some dexterity to take a picture with the front camera, without occluding the camera and making a selfie.
