iPad Pro 9.7 Random Restart

Normally wouldn't think much of this but, I have a 2 day old iPad Pro 9.7 128GB that has restart on me twice so far. In the middle of using it, it will cut to the Apple logo on the black background for a minute before returning to the passcode screen. Oddly enough, it will accept Touch ID in place of a passcode, something it doesn't usually do when it loses power. Any idea on the cause or how to figure it out? I chatted with the tech support but they only help they could provide was to do a restore. I just performed it, but my concern is that I installed an app or enabled something causing the iPad to crash and it'll simply continue to do that due to the bad app.

Just wanted to chime in so I could be updated on this topic. I have a 128GB 9.7" iPad Pro LTE and experienced random reboots, mostly when switching apps, and other times when exiting Safari. Standard and full DFU restoring, iCloud backup and fresh iPad setup, nothing resolved it. Apple replaced it, but the new one experiences the same issue.

I'm willing to upgrade to iOS 10 PB1/DP2 if this resolves it.

This must be a hardware fault on all iPad 9.7 iPads, if Apple are unable to fix it with several software updates.

So very very bad for the iPad Pro 9.7

I suspect many people will demand a refund for a defective product sold to them in good faith it would work.

This is a lot of money for a device that keeps rebooting all the time.

I don't get why some people are having this issue, what makes it so strange is that you keep having the same issue with replacement iPads. This cannot be a problem with the design of the product but must be something about the way you are using them that is the same among the cohort. Could everyone having this issue perhaps post what network equipment they are using to connect to the internet, Modem Brand and Model, and perhaps also the ISP you have. It has to be something common to each user if replacements are not fixing the problem. This really bothers me to see this problem occurring with a device I haven't experienced an issue with, and I can understand your frustration.

I'm not saying it's not a problem for you but I really don't think that it is due to the product, it would be nice to know what setup everyone has that is experiencing the issue. I have never had this issue with my iPad 9.7 and I am happy,

What Setup I have that works fine (no restarts, at all):

- ASUS RT-AC5300 Router

- Arris SurfBoard SB6183

- Time Warner Cable 400 Mbps Service

- OpenDNS DNS Server

No, it could be your Wi-Fi router having old software, or a bad DNS server (I recommend OpenDNS, 208.67.222.222, 208.67.220.220), I have had something similar happen with another hardware item that took me forever to realize it was the Wi-Fi router having out of date firmware causing the issue.

I also had another hardware item that was incompatible with the Arris line of modems. That was a different location with a router that kept dropping a connection. This feels like a similar issue as I have done the replacements thinking that one item was the issue when it really wasn't.
