Can I download iTunes U on my mac?
I've downloaded the application on my phone but I'd like to download it on my mac as well. Is this possible? If so, how can I do it?
MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.4)

You need to go to the Podcasts view to see any iTunes U media.
As the article says:
After the move, iTunes U will no longer appear in iTunes on your Mac or PC and you won't be able to download new content to your computer. (Learn more about downloading content before the move.) You will still be able to access iTunes U content, however:
Any links to content from iTunes U collections will redirect to the same content in Podcasts. Links to content in public courses will work on iOS devices only.
Best of luck,

Out of date now. iTunesU has been removed from iTunes on the Mac. Materials previously downloaded are now stored in the Podcasts section.
I can no longer stream iTunesU videos to my Mac, which I consider a setback.
Hello, Stan!
It's not possible to avail iTunes U on a Mac. With the recent update of iTunes, Apple has ditched the feature and it's a nasty move by Apple. Re: Can I download iTunes U on my mac?
[Update]
Courses in iTunes U were now available in Podcasts section. Just confirmed it.
See Managing apps with iTunes 12.7 or later. You might want to consider installing iTunes 12.6.3 for access to iTunes U on your computer, but it looks as if it is being abandoned. 😟

However iTunes U is not an available option in iTunes 12.7 or later.

I totally agree with you Jonathan. Apple has abandoned iTunes U in the latest operating system of iTunes with Sierra. What a loss for education in this country as it was the easiest way to get higher learning without having to buy a cellphone. Apple must have done this to drive revenue toward the iPhone X. Money talks. Podcasts are not the same. They don't carry all the materials and notes previously available in iTunes U. As a graduate student working on a second masters program I found this one of the best ways to augment my education and pursue new interests.
The link says it will work on Mac but when I go to app store it says iTunes U app only available for ioS devices ...so cannot get in on Mac.
Is there an alternate?
Depending on the type of content it may now be available via the Podcasts section of the library.

I know this is late to the party, but I found this recently which is way better than iTunes U.. and has accompanying slides Stanford - Developing iOS 10 Apps with Swift - 1. Introduction to iOS 10, Xcode 8 and Swift 3 - YouTube
I am a professor who spent years putting several of my courses on iTunes U. It was a huge investment of my time, but I was attracted to the service because it was cross-platform, available on Mac and Windows desktops as well as iOS devices. Now all those potential viewers are lost. I am disappointed in Apple for this move and can only hope that they eventually come out with iTunes U desktop apps.
Hi - I don't see iTunes U in mac or PC version of iTunes. Am I missing something?
Yes, just confirmed it! So sad! iTunes U helped me take lessons from Stanford but now, it's gone.
Not available in 12.7 OS for iTunes
Thanks for that.
I've already upgraded to 12.7. I've have to jump through hoops to install 12.6.3 on my main user id. An install of 12.6.3 on a secondary user id fails due to the newer version.
Is there a way to get the secondary account to ignore everything about the existing iTunes installation? Or any way to install two version of iTunes on one Mac?

I am responding to the question above which is not answered correctly anywhere on this site. Why has apple removed iTunes U from the Mac version of iTunes? It is not on the podcasts or the Explore section as described.
Cheers,
