For some reason I cannot add freeze frames anymore. I have tried several projects and none responds. Although the FF appears does appear it only has 8seconds and I cannot enlarge it with the change duration facility... Any ideas please?

yes, that is precisely the problem... it only has 8 seconds and I cannot change duration. Something is corrupted but I do not know what. I have deleted preferences using the application sent by David Bogie Chq-1 https://www.digitalrebellion.com/prefman/ but the problem remains as well as pressing cmd and alt before launching FCPX...
HHow are you changing duration? Can't see why this wouldnt work.
by clicking change duration and changing the seconds to whatever... it will not change
WWhat are you clicking to change duration? Clicking the dashboard is playhead position not duration.
This is an example of a proper freeze frame, when the application worked correctly
I think i have find out the problem... freeze frames cannot be added if the footage is in another library... this is the problem... PROBLEM SOLVED

I copy pasted a section from footage in Library A to project in library B. Although the section adds well, it is not possible to add freeze frames unless I move the footage to library B... Do I make sense??
If the clip is in another library, it was also copied to the working library.

4K footage is heavy and I have it distributed in several libraries
TThe media should be copied when the clip is copied. It should still work.
well, it does not... it only works if I import the footage afresh...
CCopy paste freeze frame extend works for me.
DO you get the warning dialog when to paste?
