Unknown Callers

How can we put in a formal request for Apple to allow us to reject or block unknown callers? I get 36 unknown calls every day from 5am till 2pm. I use Do not disturb, but some calls still ring through. This is so frustrating.

iPhone 6s, iOS 9.3.1

It works correctly for me as well. I use it every night to ensure I'm not disturbed. I happened to be working on a couple of emails the other night, and mine is set by schedule. After that I received a phone call, and because this person was not in my Favorites, since I have that set to allow calls through, it went straight to voicemail. If yours is not working as it is supposed to, it might require some troubleshooting.

DND only works when the phone is locked (black screen). If you have your phone unlocked for any reason (like sending a text message), it will still ring.

That is incorrect. DND has two options for Silence: Always or Only while iPhone is locked.

Yes, those settings are there. For phone calls, however, the "Always" setting is not respected by the phone. I don't know if it's a bug or if it's "be design", but the Always setting will silence alerts but not phone calls when the phone is unlocked.

It works exactly as it should for me. If I have it set to "Always", calls are sent immediately to voicemail even when the phone is not locked. I just double checked.

I double-checked it on my side as well since I hadn't run into the issue since before upgrading to 9.3.1, and the issue persists for me.

The only thing I can think of that's messing it up on my phone could have to so with the Favorites that are allowed.

I have four different phone numbers saved as part of my contact card, and I have ONE of them linked as a favorite. When I call from another number that's associated with my contact card, but NOT the one saved as a favorite, it rings through. Either way, I don't see the feature working as expected in my case.

That is interesting. I wonder then if that has something to do with Favorites, and that it is based on the contact card, and not necessarily the individual phone number that you have selected in Favorites, if you have a contact with multiple numbers. I'll have to take time to research that later. I have Favorites set to come through, so it shouldn't be too hard to check.
