I usually use the advanced editor. But most of the other programs I use have a little color block that helps me find this.

What I was trying to do, is have my text black, not gray. It seems like Apple has an obsession for minimalism and making things hard to see.

We have some other Macs year running 10.9.5 because they are dedicated to video editing. I much prefer the colors in 10.9.5 as opposed to all of the grays in 10.10 and after.

I am aware. My first New Media project was developed in 256 colors Mac/Windows in Director and 16 colors DOS in GRASP - delivered on single density floppy disks (no sound any of the 3)
