how to permently delete apps

how can I permanently remove apps that I no longer use

iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G, iOS 9.3.1

What exactly do you mean by 'permanently cancel', and 'ever album the app from the iTunes store' ?


If you've subscribed to something in the app : View, change, or cancel your subscriptions - Apple Support


Apart from that you can delete the app from your iPad and from your computer's iTunes library, and you can hide it from the cloud (so that it doesn't show in the Purchased sections for redownloading) as per the link in Courcoul's post above

Thank you. I tried both suggestions.

Neither worked.

In "Manage Storage" there wasn't a place for Deleting them once I clicked on each.

Now - all of this is on my iPhone.

On my ipad I was able to delete them the old way (holding down the app icon until it started to shake & clicking on the X).

It's my iPhone that doesn't have the X anymore.
