Requesting additional help - tagging?

There are times when one knows another poster would be able to solve the problem or at least shed some more light when first line trouble shooting options are exhausted

Is there a way of tagging another senior poster using the @ function? Or are we relying somewhat on chance for the expert to notice the thread and chime in?

I completely understand the every poster here is a volunteer and donates of their time and expertise - this is not meant to impose on any of their generosity and graciousness but perhaps a nudge in the sense of "If you are here at some point - could you please take a look at ..."

Is that even possible?

Thank you for any insight

You had a post where you showed via a screen shot how people could turn notifications off and on

Thanks. Occasionally people will exchange email addresses since there is no private messaging system in ASC, but gaining access to the lounge is the principle method that allows higher level users to call on each other's expertise discretely. Even then some people are active participants there, and others not. Tacking a message onto a thread where the person you want help from has posted recently is probably the one contact method that will work every time.

Thank you - truth be told I am very apprehensive about being banned for thread jacking if I tacked on another (perhaps unrelated) thread into one that was being answered by the person in question

All this really helps - I do wish the @ function worked better 🙂 ah well!

I started coming here to answer questions - now I come here to learn - 😀
