MacBook Pro 15 Inch late 2011 stuck on start up

Hello,

My MBP 15inch late 2011 is getting stuck on a white screen after the Apple logo loading screen on startup.

I have tried to start on Safe mode and recovery mode, but the problem is i cant hear the starting sound (my guess is because i left my computer on mute) so i dont know if im doing it right because it always starts the same way, it goes to the logo loading screen, it loads 2 thirds of the way and then goes to the white screen to be stuck.

Please help.

Do you now how much it cost to change the sata cable?

Try the iFixit.com and Powerbookmedic.com web sites for pricing and installation instructions. Even by Apple standards it should not be expensive.

Do have the MBP checked at an Apple store. Though I suspect the SATA cable/connection is the prime suspect, other possibilities may still exist. Spend money only when you have the problem accurately defined. 🙂
