After installing El Capitan, IPhoto has disappeared along with all My photos. Iphoto came as standard on my Mac and not an app purchase. Searched the Mac and can find nothing. Read the forums and tried to install, but just says not available. How do I get my photos back as been trying all week.
ANy help much appreciated.

Neil, cheers for this. I am goiing to admit defeat and take the Mac to someone who knows what they are doing as I am afraid this is a bit beyond me, so thanks for all your help. If my brother was still with me I wouldn't have had a problem.
That's even better! Directly open the enclosing folder - perfect.
