I can't partition my Mac to a single volume for bootcamp

I have a 1 TB drive that "must be formatted as a single Mac OS Extended (Journaled) volume or already partitioned by Boot Camp Assistant for installing Windows." When I went to disk utility, it just said that I only have one partition at 850 GB. How can I fix this?

Also, here are some images in case anyone doesn't understand my problem:

Oh my! I forgot about this error. I’ve seen it once before and I don’t know if this is the best way to deal with it but what I did was back up the computer, install OS X and then use BootCamp to partition the drive. Then I restored the applications and data with a TimeMachine backup. Note: it doesn’t need to be a TM backup, you could use any other backup program that copies the entire hard drive.

The time I saw this error the computer had been in use for a while. My colleague (it belonged to him) said he hadn’t done anything more than install a couple programs and save data to it. The drive was 75% empty. I ran Disk Utility and it found no errors. A tech I work with had never seen this error and he guessed, as I did, that there might be a problem with the partition. I misspoke above. I didn’t erase the drive, I deleted the partition which erases the drive. Then I reinstalled the OS.

I tried to use first aid in disk utility and it didn't do anything. Bootcamp also doesn't do anything, it just tells me I need to have a single partition, though it still lets me make one of the install disks. The only thing I can think of is that I dual booted to linux with rEFind about 2 months ago, but I deleted the partition for it a few weeks ago. The partition for linux was 100 gb. Was I not supposed to that? I heard GParted would be better to remove it but I just got rid of it disk utility. Also, my model is 21.5-inch, Late 2012.

-bash-3.2# diskutil repairDisk disk0

Repairing the partition map might erase disk0s1, proceed? (y/N) y

As expected. On a working Mac, this what you normally see.

Please download GPT Fdisk from https://sourceforge.net/projects/gptfdisk/ so the EFI can be corrected. Once it is corrected, we can move forward with correcting your disk space issue.

Under Normal boot, please post any error messages in the sequence of steps. Do not type anything in the parentheses, (it is informational text).

sudo gdisk /dev/disk0

m (Main menu)

p (Print)
