I'm using OSX El Capitan 10.11.1. iTunes automatically upgraded to 12.4. I played music on a playlist with crossfade activated, but none of the songs crossfaded. I'm aware crossfade doesn't work whenever songs are played in any sequence from the same artist and album, but my playlist was not organized as such, so it should have worked. I tried turning the feature off and on, and quitting iTunes and restarting, but no luck. Any suggestions?

I have installed the update 12.4.1 for iTunes but I still cannot get crossfade to work.
Do I need to reboot my iMac in order to relaunch iTunes?

You have to disable the option, then press OK and then enable the option again.

The crossfade issue has been fixed with the 12.4.1.6 update on 6/2.
Yes, isn't it wonderful? Except now my iPhone refuses to sync and update. I'm going to have to do a full restore to see if THAT fixes THAT problem. Remember when Apple products were simple and they just WORKED?
Apple fixed this issue in iTunes 12.4.1 update.
I got it!! You need to listen to the entire song for it to crossfade....you cannot drag the song to the end to test to see if it crossfades!

You've ALWAYS had to play the whole song to get it to crossfade. This conversation is in reference to the bug that Apple took their usual sweet time fixing with the latest upgrade of iTunes.
