Are the ASC English, Japanesse, Korean, Spanish, Portugese,

Are the ASC English, Japaneses, Korean, Spanish, Portuguese communities linked.

I signed up to the Portuguese community under a different alias. I used the same apple id.

I would like to signup for the Spanish community. Should I create a new community alias? May I use one of my two existing aliases?

How are points dealt with between the community. I have zero points for the Portuguese forum.

I should have gotten the details before.

I had all I could handle of the ASC Jive forum after six months. I put out a request for a better forum experience a year and a half ago. Hiroto responded with a modified css sheet in forum. I apple deleted it before I could get a copy. Hiroto posted apple response saying that the css hadn't been tested enough in different environments. When was generalized testing ever a criteria. I thought we were answering user's questions. [ When is testing a criteria for ASC? ] I got in contact with Hiroto to get the css. bdaqua, wzzz, and I did extensive testing. Explained we were not modifying apple software as one poster asserted. Made into a user tip.

How long should I give apple to take action. It's been over two years now. Current ASC updates don't give me confidence apple understands audience.

I can make up a list of Usability improvements for the ASC web pages. You can present them to apple if you have good contacts.

Apple's target audience is NOT us... as Vicky (Community Manager Spanish) sez = audience is "neophytes" - mission accomplished for them, methinx

They are considering ASC as a database of questions and answers. It would save apple considerable money to have folks find the answer without having to call apple. People would call less on the free call period.

Of course, how do questions get answered?

Your idea of user skins is the way to go. Why a one size fits all approached?

Remember that the new look & feel is designed to 'match' the redesigned Apple Support page(s) go down the page in order of what Apple "wants"

search is priority #1
device driven path is next
"popular" (not classifiable) next
ASC is the "first line of defense" for contact with real folks
stuff that costs Apple $$ is WAY DOWN the page

The results of the search depend on where you do the search. A search from the support page give silly results. A search from ASC give me good results.

If your coming from the support page. I idea that you are going to find the answer via apple's search is questionable. Could this be the reason people only spend 3.2 seconds on the result page?

I do not know what search engine apple is using, but it's worthless.
