Suspicious Pop-up Adv while using Safari on iPhone

Hi all

I was browsing the web on Safari using my iPhone and a very insisting ad popped up. It attempted to re-direct me to a website called http://free.com-00.site

So I tried to force exit Safari, close the windows, re-start the iPhone but the ad wouldn't go away. I ended up clicking OK to the ad and now I'm worried about the security of my data. The ad was saying that I won an iPhone but never asked me any personal info.

In the matter of few minuties, I've changed the password to my Apple ID account and contacted my online bank to warn them about what happened.

Is there anything else I should be doing/checking to make sure that I am not being scammed or similars?

I have the same problem. Mainly on arstechnica but also on recode. There are several threads on the ars forums about this too

I've had the same problem, though only on wiki sites. Other sites work fin

I have been getting the same thing but only when I am using the Facebook app. Never on Safari or elsewhere. Cleared my history quite a few times and doesn't seem to help.

Same pop up - bit mine happened on the Facebook app ! I forced closed the app and opened it again to thankfully see it gone - but now I'm worried about my children's toys - iPod and an iPad
