iCloud Drive is 'FULL' but really it's EMPTY!

Hi, I have contacted iCloud support and one of the senior manager solved the case less than 5 minutes.

There was a longer call with the support staff before, but it was ok, they just have to make sure you know what’s in your drive.

My iCloud storage gives 4.89 GB of 5GB used, when I add up the actual storage I find that I have used 1.01 GB. The bar in the icloud window ays 3.95GB used for documents. Where are they, not on the iCloud drive not in the apps.

Is this a set-up to let me buy more storage from Apple????

Just found this thread after searching for a solution to the same issue. I only set up iCloud today. It backed up my iPhone, which I didn't want it to, so I deleted the back-up. When I open the "iCloud Drive" folder in the Finder it says "0 items, 879.7MB available on iCloud" as though the iPhone back-up is still there. If I log in to iCloud on my browser it correctly shows 5GB available. If I look at iCloud in System Preferences it correctly shows 5GB available. I've tried emptying the trash as others have mentioned in this thread, but to no avail.

Have this problem as well, but did not delete as much. Currently using 2.60 GB of 5 GB total. Nothing else shows up in memory manager.

Viewing storage profile on a PC shows 2.77 GB of documents being stored (have never used iCloud for docs). Going to the drive shows it to be empty. Very frustrating.

i have same issue but in my case even i delete something its always showed me zero byte free!!!!!

This thread started somewhat in June 2016, until now i see it still haven't resolved much. It happened to me now. Btw, where is the trash bin in iOS?

somebody explain me how is this even possible?

I have the same problem, I am heartsick!! I recently loaded all my children's photos in icloud as well as important documents, and now it says its empty.

I'm having same issue. There was nothing in the Trash to empty.

Yes. Apple support walked me through that and multiple other possible solutions and then ran diagnostics. Tried it all again and iCloud still show doucuments filling 4.8GB of storage and folders are empty.

I also have this issue! i deleted everything in my icloud drive, the storage clears, then the documents keep appearing again. I literally have to delete my drive every single day! its so annoying and i even disabled my drive, yet random documents keep appearing.. I contacted the genius bar also they just told me to delete it. YET IT KEEPS REAPPEARING.

Other people have posted similar problems and after contacting iCloud support, found it was a server problem. iCloud support reset everything. You may have to politely ask for a level 2 person.

Contact iCloud Support. You may have to try twice.

I had the same problem, for a year. iCloud drive had a mere 127MB. I deleted backups, emptied the trash. The solution: call Apple support to free up reserved space. So, if you've done the obvious, call Apple.

I was looking for the solution to the problem posted here and your comment actually worked for me. You have to empty the trash and problem solved
