I accidentally turned on Live Photos. I've got about a dozen of them. I'd like to choose the best frame from each one and keep only that frame. I know how to do this with photo Bursts, but how do you do it with a Live Photo? Thank you.

HI , you can select the key photos / still images on your iphone with IOS 11 (per below) and there is link with instructions above for doing this on a mac with high Sierra (11.13) installed (sadly new OS does not run on my old 2012 imac

Change your key photo
Want to use a different key photo than the one you see in your photo library? In iOS 11 and later, it's no problem. Choose from the range of frames that make up your Live Photo.
You can also toggle the Live Photo effect off when you tap Edit > 
. If you change your mind, just tap again in Edit.
This is a solution but the resolution of exported image isn't very good!
Can this be done on my iPhone? Or do I have to do it from my mac?
Can the "extract single frame from Live Photos" task be done on my iPhone? Or does it have to be done in my mac?
I don't understand the purpose of a Live Photo if you can't select frames – just a bit of eye candy?

I don't seem to have that gear on my video tool bar. See attached. How do I get it to appear?

What are you importing to? We're using Lightroom. (Re: isolating one image from the Live feature on the iPhone)

If you cannot select a frame from the 3 second burst, why did apple create such an option? Stupid & frustrating!
Google has a free app for this called Motion Still.
And when iOS 11 comes out, this feature will be standard in iOS.
