why can't I get ITV Hub and All 4 apps on Apple TV?

I've just purchased the latest Apple TV (32GB) and find I can download BBC iPlayer but not the ITV Hub or All 4. Does anyone know why this is?

thanks in advance

Good news! ITV Hub and My5 are confirmed as coming to the Apple TV later this year along with Apple’s own TV App! See Apple’s latest event:

No news on All 4. I suggest we all contact them to ask them to support it:

I gave up waiting for Apple to fully localise AppleTV for the UK and bought an Amazon Fire TV Stick instead. Only £20. Absolutely delighted with it. IPlayer, ITV Hub, All 4, My5, Dave catch up as well. Even the remote feels very Appleesque. Apple were one of the first to that party, but they seem to have sat in the corner for far too long. As long as they've got their US market, then they're happy.

I think if Apple wanted it to happen they could have made it happen, perhaps offering help to the networks instead of letting virtually all of their competition get there first. Apple seemed to focus more on US orientated networks and sports channels etc... I just think it was a missed opportunity for them. Although, as most TVs are Smart TVs now, the days of separate plug in smart devices are probably limited.

The reasons are all technical , when they updated the app they did not allow for use with the iPad, whether intentional or by mistake who knows. Anyway here is a work around for those who are legal, i.e. they are accessing through a UK portal. The ITV Hub can only be downloaded via the UK store but you can access it from your browser. If you open safari-go to ITV hub , it opens. now you cannot see any content unless you appear to be in the UK, i.e. you are in the UK or you have a VPN address set to a UK site. If you do this then you can access the content on the browser whether you use an IPAD or laptop. This content will now stream to Apple TV in the normal manner. It is caused by a software glitch in the app.

according to ITV when they did an update of itvhub some time ago it lost the ability to use the apple tv, you can get the audio but not the video. the workaround is to open the browser [i use safari], go to itvhub webpage and use that, you can connect then via airplay [i use a MacBook pro] . haven't tried channel 4 on it but as the BBC player also works this way i would expect t it to be fine.
