I do have time capsule on the network but the file is corrupted or dissociated due to a laptop replacement and attempt to delete an old backup file ( I assume backups are not checked)

Even in 10.11.5 I would suggest you remove several "apps" that you do not need and that are often counterproductive:

Seagate software: counterproductive and unnecessary: OSX is very capable in handling Seagate disks.

Uninstall everything Intego: very counterproductive.

DivX and <Flip4Mac are "out" and not necessary.

Wondershare not really "compatible".

Most internet plugins you have are unnecessary to say the least: for example RealPlayer and Shockwave cause issues.

AdobeResourceSynchronizer, a well known "dragger": just remove it from the LoginItems and it will not run anymore (I would remove all items from LoginItems: and never run them).

Roxio not compatible.

Dymo and Sonos probably not compatible.

Etc.

It will be even worse in 10.11.6 beta.

I suggest you "roll back" to ElCapitan 10.11.5:

Write down all apps you think you really need, and post that list here: I will comment on that.

After this discussion:

in Recovery Partition (CMD+R) format/erase your startup disk and install OSX : it will install 10.11.5

Install the apps you really need.

Do NOT restore from TimeMachine: otherwise you will have all rubbish again on you mac; just restore emails and that sort of stuff for the apps you need, or restore it from another backup that you made of all user data that you want.

If you have issues, like WiFi, we solve that, instead of installing rubbish.
