How do I block spam calendar invitation emails?

I can't believe this is happening honestly. I have about 2 spam invites a day and I too declined the first one because I didn't know any better and now my calendar is flooded! I've tried blocking the contacts and that doesn't work because you can't just block emails. I have no idea what to do! Apple, please work on this and get it together!

Check Navy165 reply. It works. Create new calendar-drag and drop the "appointment" to this new calendar-uncheck the new calendar (to make sure it was moved -appointment will disappear-), delete the calendar. [a warning will pop asking you if you want to "Delete without notifying" or "Delete and Notify" -of course, you should choose "without notifying"!]

DONE.

The advice re blocking and removing by creating a new calendar (below) are excellent. I spoke to apple care today who are very aware of the issue and have a team working on it. I was put straight through to the specialist team and they need all the info they can, so do let them know.

To remove the event without having to send a response (either maybe, accept or decline) which would reveal information to the spammer (i.e. this is a valid account to target for spam), I deleted the entire calendar and all its events. Luckily for me, I received a spam invitation to an unused calendar so this wasn't a problem for me.

Stupidly, I 'declined' the invitation. I went ahead and called apple support. The woman I talked to at apple support reassured me that I did nothing wrong by declining the invitation. But as a caution she told me to change my apple ID password. She told me I was the first to call her with this issue, and let me know that as long as I hadn't given the phishers and information (any PII) that I was ok...

Check down below for a post from DrewYonkers. It precisely describes a way to mitigate this until Apple gets a solution in place. I received only a single invite which I didn't respond to and haven't received any more, so perhaps they're fixing this on the server side with a spam filter of some type...

The "help" from some of us is only confusing the rest of us.This is not the only thread on this topic. Hundreds of users are complaining elsewhere all over Apple Discussions.

It has been difficult for me to experiment with the differences between what some of you are seeing, because it has to do with which version of OS X (or macOS) you use. Some versions of it behave differently.

For example, DrewYonkers' post is confusing a lot of people, because he is missing steps in his step-by-step. For most of us, there is no "gear" icon in Calendar, as he describes, and his screenshot is not the same as we see.

Also, in the many threads on this topic, the "help" sometimes refers to steps on iOS without saying it is on iOS, and sometimes on OS X without saying it is on the desktop version of Calendar. Then there is the difference between settings on iOS 9 and settings on iOS 10, and between OS X and macOX.

Bottom line, not every screenshot in this thread will match what you or I see. It's up to Apple.

I am combing the boards for a solution to this very problem--a calendar filling up with crass pitches for sunglasses. There seems to be none, barring crafty workarounds that are half-effective, and complicated. I'm no newbie, either.

My iPhone, and iPad, for better or worse, are central to my life, and embody extremely personal space. Something like this feels invasive, and violating. It often seems that Apple has very little empathy for this feeling.

My apologies to Drew. I eventually figured out that his instructions were for use in a Web browser, not for desktop and not iOS Calendar. What remains unanswered is the effect this method will have on those who get calendar notifications from Microsoft Exchange at work, or whose primary calendar is Google, or...

I mean when the spammer send out an invitation to the calendar, they are using his apple ID, I can see his email address as well. That email address should bind to his ID and cannot be randomly generated. If I set the invitation going to my email instead of the calendar, then blocking his email address could work.

Does it matter whether they are using their real address? I am blocking the address that is linked to the Apple ID. It is that address sends spam to my apple calendar. I don't think a spammer can use only one apple ID with different email address to send calendar invitation.

There is no limit on email addresses attached to an ID, you can have as many of them as you want, of any type, for genuine users or not, please stop this and read a little bit about iCloud. Then read about spammers.

Clarification: My instructions and screen capture apply to accessing iCloud Calendar's Preferences from your web browser, not from a mobile device or your Mac's desktop calendar app (I don't see the appropriate option offered in either of those places, only on the web browser).

Until Apple comes up with a security fix, at least we should be able to push these spam calendar invites to email instead, mark any incoming emails from these sources as Spam with that email provider, and stop the spammers that way. It's not ideal, but assuming Apple successfully reroutes the iCloud calendar invites to email, dealing with any spammy ones there should be easier than having our calendars littered with junk.

This is a big pain. I got spammed with MULTIPLE events. There doesn't seem to be a way to mass delete these events by either sender or title or anything. Plus, I'm not "deleting" them, I'm DECLINING them, which gives the spammer notification that my email is actually active.

I have to delete them one by one. UGH!!!!
