How do I get access to this BETA?

Enroll on the public beta testing program on Apple website with your Apple ID. You will have to install a small tool on your mac and then receive updates on App Store.

I haven't yet had the chance to connect to external projector, but today morning I will.

I've enrolled and I'm now on Beta 2. No flicker yet but the actual upgrade took a whole lot of reboots and forced power downs so that is as likely to have cleared it temporarily. Let's see.

I've been using the Fix for 30+ hours with numerous sleep/wake cycles and 10+ unplug/plugs. Seems to be working. Using the apple adapter to run a dell 4k monitor as well as a anker usb3 gigabit adapter/hub with a keyboard and mouse connected.

Using beta3 results (VGA adapter), SMC and NVRAM reset:

- no flicker so far

- after a sleep sometimes image gets blurry on the first couple of seconds but stabilizes (using external projetor several times, on a monitor just once - see picture)

- takes longer for image to reappear after sleep (maybe 2-3 more seconds than before)

- after sleep sometimes the resolution is "lost", after wake up need to go to settings and fix it (again with a projector)

- resolutions up to 1280x768

- lots off sleep/wake cycles to test this out

I believe the projector issues may be related to it being "public" and cable may not be in the best condition.

I am seeing weirdness the first 2-3 seconds after plugging in the hdmi adapter as well. Looks like the monitor and adapter syncing up. As long as the screen doesn't go black every 10 seconds I'm happy... how sad Is that...

I am testing macOS Sierra beta 3 (16C48b) too with my MacBook 2016 m7 and LG 27ud88 monitor via USB-C cable and seems to work fine...

I will keep you updated.

I was invited to participate in the beta. I have upgraded and I haven't had any issues with the flickering thus far. I have tested with the Apple adapter and a 3rd party adapter with success on my Dell monitor.

So far the fix looks good!

I've been on all the sierra public betas and flickering has always been there. Also with the latest beta.

Apple adapter and Dell U3415W. Three colleagues with same setup and same problems. Not just flickering but whole screen just showed noise for a couple of seconds.

2 days with Beta 3. No flickering on my Dell monitor. Used to be plenty - every 3-5 minutes.

2 days with Beta 3 also. Just random weirdness on the first couple of seconds (as Paulo Neves mentioned) with LG27UD88 monitor and USB-C cable). So far no flickering with MINIX NEO C over VGA with several monitors and projectors (just tested for 2-3 hours).
