My Mac wont let me click on certain apps?

I have a MacBook Air with El Capitan 10.11.3

So this only started up today, but what has happened is, is that when I open up microsoft apps like Word, PowerPoint, etc. I can't click on anything, I try to click full screen, nothing, I try to click to close it, nothing, just clicking on anything doesn't work, I have to force quit the app. But this doesn't happen just with microsoft apps, it's happening with the Messages app (iMessage), the App Store so I can't update the laptop so I can't check if thats the problem, and thats all I know that don't work so far. But it seems to work fine in Chrome and Spotify, and that's all I know that work so far. I've tried force quitting the apps and reopening them and shutting down my laptop and turning it back on but nothing is working. If anyone knows whats wrong or how to fix the problem that would be lovely.

Thanks.

MacBook Air, OS X El Capitan (10.11.3)
