iPhone SE Battery

Hi, I recently bought an iPhone SE.

When I first got it I used it until there was 20% battery charge left, then charged it all the way to 100% and unplugged it.

I did that by the recommandation of a post here on the forum.

Now I get 5-6 hours of usage and over 18 hours of standby time, and still have 30% left.

I was wondering if this is good battery life for an iPhone SE?

Please let me know if you guys can! Thank you. 🙂

P.S. It charges SO fast, like in an hour it can charge from 30% to 90% and then trickle charges for another 45 minutes. Is this normal?

Because of the statement about 5-6 hours of life (yes 30% left). My old iPhone 5 lasts all day with plenty of battery left. My understanding was the SE was as good as the old fives and better than the sixes. However, I have no way of knowing what "usage" means to the OP. If they are playing Pokemon Go or watching constant videos for 5-6 hours then all bets are off.

I have heard very good things about the app Battery Life and testing with it would not hurt. Also if in doubt with a new phone having an Apple Store test it seems wise to me.

HI! thank you so much for making my worries go away. I am a new iphone user and I'm so happy with it so far! Will never go back to android. I use my phone moderately. basically for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Youtube videos (not a lot) , and i browse the net sometimes. That's it I guess.

I lose 1% every 7 mins. I've been looking at the percentage meter to get a better understanding of that.

Thanks again!!!

Battery usage won't be linear except in standby. All of the apps you listed use WiFi/Cell Data which will take extra battery. I am assuming you also text on it and on rare occasions make or answer phone calls. If you have a weak cell signal you will see your iPhone consume battery at a faster rate. If you just bought the iPhone you will see your battery life get a bit better after using it for a couple of weeks.

You do want to do a full charge cycle at least once per month and avoid going to a totally depleted battery. You do not need to charge at 20%.

yes I completey understand that. Thank you for the info. I got it on July 7th!

Also! Since you're so informative I have a question for you! people have suggested to me that I charge it from 30-40% to 80% and never let it deplete. Don't over charge it and so on. But every month do a full depletion and charge it all the way to 100% to calibrate it. I was wondering if this is the correct way to charge it? please let me know.

thanks once again 🙂
