Restoring Iphone 6 Plus in DFU mode
Ok, guys, this is my first post so here it goes with my questions.
I have an Iphone 6 Plus that I got last September. It was working great until recently. While on my dock, the phone slipped out of my hand and into the water, I jumped in and grabbed it before it could hit the bottom. I went to the surface and took off my Otterbox. It had water on it and supposedly in it. So I went to the house and put it in rice, later that night I tried to get it to turn on, it would not. I tried to force restart it and plugged it in to see if it would show anything and it did nothing. So I left it in the rice and went to Verizon, they said that another store that is closed had a dehydrator. The next day, I went and they dehydrated my phone. When we went back they said that it was showing the Apple Logo but they took it out too early and so they tried again. The second time we went in they told us that they got most of the water out but the phone would power cycle when it was plugged in. So, the next day I read online how to restore a phone that is power cycling (Apple screen comes up for 4 seconds, goes black, repeat process). They said to try putting your phone in DFU mode and connecting it to Itunes and restoring the phone. So I did, while it is plugged in, I press and hold the home and power button and then release the power button and keep holding the home button. Itunes tells me that there is an Iphone in recovery mode that needs to be restored and after the software download it starts to go to work. It starts extracting the software and then begins to wait for the Iphone. Well here is where it gets weird. Whenever it goes to that stage of waiting for the Iphone, the computer tells me that the phone has disconnected. Then after 3 minutes of sitting there waiting for the Iphone, it gives me an error message with error code 4005.
Is there a way for me to be able to save this Iphone without having to get another one? Is it not working because it has been disconnected? Should I try something else?
Any help is greatly appreciated!
