I am doing an essay for Uni - its 31MB large? Only 13 pages all told. Only thing I can think of is the reference hyperlinks I've tried deleting the hyperlinks but that hasn't altered the size.

It still would be nice for someone to figure out why your essay was so large.
Thanks to everyone who offered advice. I have since found out that the problem was caused by me scanning some of the text in at high resolution one of my son's friends who works in IT has sorted it out for me.
