I went through Apple support and they had me reinstall office, reboot in safe mode, reinstall OS X and then the last suggestion was to do a clean install of OS X. None of this fixed my issue. I went through Microsoft and they gave me much the same suggestions. Nothing is working. Is there any suggestions?
What happened when you tried to launch Outlook in the new User?
Since PP crashed, this indicates some issue at the base level. Do you still have Office 2011 installed. I have on occasion seen removing Office 2011 fixed issues with Office 2016. Usually it's fonts. You could just try moving the Microsoft fonts folder in the main Library/Fonts folder to the Desktop then empty font caches using Font Nuke.
There is a 64 bit version is you are interested in trying it. Under Help in the Menu bar select "Check for Updates". Select Insider Fast and it will download the newest version that is 64 bit.
If you have Parallels, why do you have bootcamp?
I don't see a problem with the other apps.
Have you ever tried installing the Windows version of Office in Parallels? Curious if it would install OK.
I had this problem as well, but serendipitously found that if I closed my Dragon for Mac software, Microsoft Word did not crash. If I re-open Dragon, Word crashes. This is reproducible. I do not know if you are using voice recognition software, but closing Dragon for Mac has solved my problem.
