How can I just delete my profile for Apple Communities?

Since my problem with ereased mails has occurred again and I don't expect any solution or explanation any more, I simply want my profile to be irrevocably deleted from the apple community. A failure to do so is against my will.


I would also like to refer to the new EU regulation on this matter which is to enter into force as from May 2018.

I think your biggest issue is the fact that you have no "guarantee to privacy." The issue with this that you need to come to terms with is that if you use the internet, you put yourself at risk. If you receive mail, you put yourself at risk. If you have a government ID, you put yourself at risk. If you work for a business, you put yourself at risk.


Everything is digital now. When nothing was digital, it was much easier to keep confidential info confidential. With digital, it is virtually impossible to guarantee your privacy. Take note of the San Bernadino terrorist. Apple didn't want to provide the government with a key to bypass the passcode on the device (side note: if the county had been using a good Mobile Device Manager, they could have removed it for the FBI) because it could compromise privacy. Then the FBI hired another company to crack the device, and that company was successful.


All that said, to get what you want, you either need to disappear like Snowden, or you need to die, although, even then, your info could be compromised, so really you need to become a ghost who never existed.

1. If a hacker attacks Apple servers and they are breached it is the hackers fault but Apple is responsible, you are not. I know you are in Germany but you left out credit card breaches of Target, Home Depot and Neiman Marcus. I was involved in all of those. Now my data has been leaked by the Chick-Fil-A fast food restaurant.


3. It is a different term of use here than it is for iCloud, iTunes Store, App Store, etc. If you do not agree to the Terms of Service for those items you will not be able to use them. If you have an Apple ID and do not agree with the Terms of Use here that merely prevents you from posting here, it has nothing to do with the other services.


5. Points of view can be different and companies here take privacy seriously, in fact it is that time of year that everyone sends me their latest policies. But regardless of the laws in Germany if you use a credit card, a bank, websites, Facebook, buy a car, have insurance, etc. there will be a data trail on you that will never die. I still get requests, credit threats, charitable appeals, etc., for my mother. She died in 2011.

1. Are just assuming Apple to be responsible in this case or is it written clearly in the terms and conditions (where can I read it)? As you are writing that your data have been leaked by the Chick-Fil-A fast food restaurant, this support even stronger my view to erease my profile from a site as soon as there is no need using it any more. My demand is based on the fact that I just would like to be on the safe side, even if I have nothing to hide.


3. I can't agree with you. Did you really read thoroughly and understand all the terms of the "Apple Support Communities Use Agreement"? They refer to Apple.com Terms of Use. Most terms are common for all Apple sites.

Now I should honestly report that I got a mail from the Apple Support Communities Team giving me the possibility to fulfill my request. I think we had many discussions on this topic and I feel this to be regarded as solved.

I should reiterate that TOTAL scrubbing of your Apple ID from ALL the various places the MASSIVE Apple ID database might be stored is a daunting task... although deleting from the "active" database should eventually get to the geographically distributed failover clusters of servers, there are the many BACKUPs to consider - some of which will be on live servers and some on removable drives and stored offsite (assuming Apple uses best practices in backups)

Methinks that whatever Apple does will merely make your Apple ID "inactive" - I'll bet you couldn't create a NEW Apple ID with the same UserName and identifying credentials after the deed is done... thus proving my point - it will never truly go POOF as if it never existed

My guess would be that if you ask for your Apple Support Communities profile to be deleted what would actually happen is that your posts would be reassigned to userremoved like this one how to move my music library back to itunes. Depending on the circumstances threads might also be locked, or hidden from public view. I wouldn't assume that they would be completely purged from the database even though that might be what you would want.

yes, but not practical... if the backups are secured by being on a private network and removable drives in a safe, no one but Apple will ever have access - the point is, practically, you will never know either way as YOU don't have access! 😉
