ipad Pro 12.7 sim card expired

Ipad Pro 12.7 sim card expired. Not finding any info about it..Do I need to get a new one,will I loose my info and data?

iPad Pro 12.9-inch Wi-Fi, Cellular, iOS 9.3.4
