how do i disable the Music app appearing on iphone locked screen

Did you try to quit the Music app clicking Home button and swiping the app up?

Hello, I have been experiencing the same problem with the music player in the lock screen. Yesterday I called Apple and they transferred me up to a senior tech advisor who had me do a reset All settings only. Since then I have not had the issue. I am hoping that this continues to work so I don’t need to do a hard reset.

A hard reset (turning the device off for 30 seconds, and then turning it back on again) worked for me on an iPhone 6+. Thank you for the suggestion.

And for the person concerned about fixing Apple Pay, the device should return to normal function with all settings intact. Nothing should be lost.

I tried all the suggestions- only a hard reset worked. To Apple engineers: This is not about the music player appearing in the control center as a widget, it’s about it appearing on the lock screen when you lift the phone to see the time.

Hello, I have been having the same problem and it drives me nuts. Today I did a chat with support and one of the things they asked me is if I headphones connected, which I don't. He then asked me to check if anything in Bluetooth was connected. There wasn't any connections. So while I was waiting, I decided to turn off Bluetooth to see if it would do anything and when I checked my lockscreen the music player was off. Then, I went back into Bluetooth and turned it back on, went back to lockscreen and the music player is still off. So far it has stayed off and its been about 20 minutes. I don't know if it will happen again but if it does I'll just turn off Bluetooth again. I don't know if this will help you but I just thought I would share, good luck and take care

Problem solved I rebooted.

Same thing was happening to me. I figured out that if you swipe up to open the control center, then open the iPod (music). I had to hold my finger on it for about 3 seconds then you tap on a lighter grey area around the outside of the iPod, it will actually close the app and remove it from your lock screen. Same thing when you’re swiping between apps, to actually get to your home screen you have to tap on the lighter gray area around the outside of the apps.

Hi you may find three or four reboots, that’s what I ended up doing, not returned since.

Try going into notifications and turning off all the alerts or just disable allow notifications altogether. This worked for me. Another possibility is removing the widget. Hope this helps.

I went to settings as suggested and switched off the show Apple music bar, then did a reboot and now it's gone. What a pain in the *** it was, so glad to have it gone. I hope it STAYS gone!

I did a hard reset and the problem went away.

To fix this issue, just soft reset your phone (aka power it down). Once you power it up again, the Music app no longer appears on the Home screen.

Boom. Just works again.

I had already done that and it did not work. Instead I completely turned off the phone. When I brought it back up the music app was gone from the wallpaper.

I had the same issue, solution is very simple!

Settings - Music - shop apple music (switch slider off)

Done.
