The Music app appears as an icon on the lock screen on iphone AND occassionally instead of the lock screen wallpaper, an album cover & music controls appear on it.
If I wanted the album cover on my lock screen i would choose it as wallpaper.
Please can anyone help me stop the Music app appearing on my lock screen.

Worked perfecly! It was "Show" apple music, not "shop" apple music but still, it solved the issue. Thank you Jane

Thank you. The hard reboot worked and it is gone. I tried the other suggestions above and they did not work for me.
I am also having this issue. I have a 7+, It's annoying but realize I'm also running Beta 11. If I hard rest I really dont wanna redo all my apple pay stuff either lol. Maybe they will fix this glitch with final pushes of iOS11 ... one can hope!
Same problem IPad Air2. Do a hard reset of the device. Worked for me.
I just pressed the play symbol and it disappeared, not sure why or what it does.
I tried all the suggestions- only a hard reset worked. To Apple engineers: This is not about the music player appearing in the control center as a widget, it’s about it appearing on the lock screen when you lift the phone to see the time.
This is ridiculous. Everytime I plug in a cord, the music player shows up on the lock screen and NEVER goes away.
Apple expects me to turn off soft/hard/or otherwise the phone to make it go away every time????
Between this and botching the Bluetooth antenna on/off/"off for 24 hrs" setting. It is a mess.
Changing the lockscreen wallpaper will fix that.
