My iWatch face fell out and i cannot access the password. what is the warranty period on these watches?
Apple Watch, iOS 9.3.4
I notice it does get warm when left on the charger. I am very careful with my watch and only wear it to the office.
You can leave the watch on the charger, even if it does not need charging. But do not charge the watch in direct sunlight and only in a well ventilated room.
Just FYI this just happened to me too. Tried to replace my iPad screen but it was glued down for life! Walk through my living room and my watch face just falls off. Completely all the way around, hanging from 1 ribbon.
This also happened to me. I was working in my kitchen and didn't even touch it against anything. Suddenly I felt it tickling against my hand, dangling out of the watch.
It almost lasted two years. I guess that's how the watch lets you know it's time to upgrade - it drops it's face.
I had the same problem during my flight from Singapore to NY.
I confirmed with the Authorized Service Provider, and it seems that these kind of defects happens due to the battery inflation. Any issues with the battery has the warranty for 2 years, so I got mine fixed for free.
My series 2 has just done the exact same thing! Only had it a month and a half. I'm armed forces so I use it for running etc as it's designed for...fine one minute, next it's decided to be a jack in the box and is hanging by the ribbon. Cracked all around the face. Booked in for Genius Bar on Wednesday. Anyone had any closure on their problem from apple?
My watch is over a year old, I hardly wear it maybe one day per week. I leave it on the charger all the time/when not in use. I notice it does get warm when left on the charger. I am very careful with my watch and only wear it to the office.
Just returned from 12 days vacation and notice the face is lifting 3mm at the base of the glass face, 😟 when I push it down it springs back up. I will visit the apple today.😠 Maybe it has something to do with the heat of the watch sitting on the charger for a longtime or battery expansion, I will see what the experts at apple say!!
Me too! Face came off while I was driving. To make matters worst, Apple returned the watch not repaired after waiting two weeks. But I'm working with a different advisor, after contacting Apple US side. Currently in Japan.
After my visit to the genius bar............Although out of warranty, Apple Australia agreed to carry out repairs at no charge.
A week later Apple called to say my 'watch is ready to collect'.
Apple decided to replace my watch with at new one at no charge 🙂 and include a 12 months warranty 🙂
OMG!!! This just happened to me tonight. Sitting watching TV, the watch vibrated and then the entire face of the watch cracked and completely fell off the watch. I am so upset!!! Received the watch for Mother's Day. Had it for one week!!!! Have an appt already scheduled for repair
Hi, i work at a tech repair center and i have seen this problem over and over. My mother had the issue before i had ever seen it her warranty had expired but with not a scratch on the frame or screen they replaced the defective watch at no cost.
I just had the same thing happen after owning the watch for 1 1/2 years. I was driving and felt something flapping on my wrist and looked down and my watch face was flapping around. I'm very sad as I treated the device like it was fragile everyday I wore it. I'm not sure if I got $350 of value out of it in the 18 months I used it...
My watch is just under two years old. I looked after it very carefully, as you would a €700 watch. Then one day the face just popped out, hanging by a ribbon. Took it to the Apple Genius Bar. Two guys probed it with their fingers, all very unscientific, but concluded that I had a swollen battery, so it will be repaired or replaced for free.
Me too. Never dropped or wet. Just picked it up off the nightstand and one side of the face was popped out. Looks like just after the one year warranty. I think mine was a year this past Christmas, the face pops off. Bout family has about six of these and I am going to watch (no pun) to see if others also are defective. Not good for an expensive watch.
