FaceTime on ethernet

Hi

Currently the FaceTime (both audio and video) doesn't work over the Ethernet (using the Lightning to Camera + Powered USB hub + USB to Ethernet adapter combination to connect to Ethernet) on my iPhone 6S -

Please enable the same - it is a great a feature to miss.

iPhone 6s, iOS 9.3.5

You have no case. They've released a dedicated adapter that allows connecting a lightning (read: iOS) device to the internet via ethernet. They clearly spell this out. I shouldn't expect a native app, arguably one of the most important ones, to stop working after a minor routine os upgrade. Add to this that facetime is the ONLY app not able to use ethernet connection – it's hard-coded to use wifi. All this translates to me as a bug, which can and should be addressed. It's probably just a couple of lines of code anyway!

I have tried this both on ios 9 and ios10 and with the new Lightning to USB3 and the Lightning to USB2 (without the additional lightning port - aka no charging possible while connected to this).

Results are same:

1. FaceTime doesn't work on Ethernet

2. iMessages doesn't work on Ethernet - but this used to work in one of the iOS versions of 9 - either 9.3.3 or 9.3.4 - but was blocked in the subsequent version

3. Routing calls through Ethernet - if the calls can be routed through WiFi, then there is no reason to block Ethernet

This will help many a users who are otherwise not able to use or do not want to use WiFi.

Four things that don't work with Ethernet:

4. Backup to iCloud
