iPhone 6S Plus posting blurry pictures to Instagram

Apparently I am the only person in the world having this problem but I hope someone can help.

I have an iPhone 6S Plus 64 GB. It's less than a year old. I bought it through AT&T and then transferred it to Verizon. Giving all the details in case it matters.

A few months ago my new uploads to Instagram started posting blurry/grainy. It does not happen all the time, maybe half of the time and I cannot find any rhyme or reason to it. It did start happening after I switched to Verizon but I don't know if that matters.

It happens on and off wi-fi; with and without filters; with and without zooming in/cropping; when using photos from the camera roll, front facing camera, and rear facing camera; and on all 6 of my accounts.

Recently I posted a picture from my phone that was texted to me by a friend and it was grainy. So I deleted it, logged in to Instagram on my friends phone and posted it from there. It was perfect. This is leading me to believe that this is a problem with my phone and not with Instagram.

Has anyone else heard of this? Suggestions? Instagram is not responding to my reports, should I go to Verizon or Apple if I can't fix this myself?

ETA: and yes I deleted the app and reinstalled it. I also deleted the app, reset my phone to factory, reinstalled my phone, and then reinstalled the app.

Thanks for trying but no dice.

I just tried to post a picture and it was blurry, so I deleted it. The picture in my camera roll that Instagram saves there was flawless but on Instagram and Facebook it was blurry. I went back to the original and added it to favorites and tried again from there. Blurry.

I am on wifi. The original and Instagram duplicate are perfect. So frustrating.

I was skeptical about this being the cause anyway because it happens sometimes when I use the camera feature in Instagram, and I am assuming it is not referencing iCloud when I do that.

I'm still dealing with the issue going on almost a month now. I will update you if I have any luck finding a solution. Please do the same!

Heyy I just asked a friend and she told me to update my iOS and I did and it worked! Try to doing the same to your phone and hopefully it'll work too!

Same here - 7 Plus, iOS 10.1.1

My instagram duplicate in my camera roll is perfect, yet my insta is blurry as.

Really don't want to update... but will let you guys know if it works.

My camera was fine until I updated to iOS 10.2.1. I keep posting & looking for answers. I've not had any answers yet. I'd suggest not updating to current version until figured out.

I did not even think about the whole iCloud issue with only the thumbnails being visible. This solved the issue for me, thanks a million

Same here. IPhone 6s, IOS updated, optimise iPhone Storage on iCloud is unchecked. Very blurry pictures, videos and text on instagram story! Help!

Sadly this didn't work for me! It only worked when you zoomed in like crazy on your images... which I don't want to do!

Yes, thank you cranberrysoda, we updated from 10.2. to the latest version and now that frustrating bug disappeared. Yay!
