Artist Photos Missing in iTunes 12.5.1

I've noticed a few artist photos are missing since upgrading to 12.5.1. Any ideas on how to fix or refresh? They are mainstream artists, nothing obscure.

I may have found a possible solution (well it worked for some of my missing artist photos in iTunes). I noticed that some of the artists with missing photos had an extra space after their name in iTunes.

So if you go into iTunes -

go to 'artists' under 'library' on the main page -

right click on an artist with a missing photo -

click 'artist info' -

look in the 'album artist' field -

see if there's an extra space at the end of their name -

if so, remove it and click 'ok'.

This has worked for me for most of the mainstream artists in my library, so has got rid of a fair number of those ugly microphone images.

Another point I've noticed is that changing the artist name slightly can determine whether iTunes will display a photo or not. For example 'The Bee Gees' in my library had a no photo even after removing the space. As this is a very mainstream artist, I thought to change the name album artist name to 'Bee Gees' and it worked bringing up an artist photo.

Good luck!

I was looking for the update, and to my disappointment, the issue is still there. I noticed that 20% of the artist appeared, and the ones from my CD's LPs or any other source that are not related to Apple ID is still showing that stupid microphone. Put some other art at least, I am little tired looking this ridiculous pink circle with the blue mike. Also the circle with artist photo is so small that I don't even recognize who it is.

I updated today to 12.5.2.35

I got a few more band photos, but most are still missing

I have changed the generic itunes annoying pink image with a photo of a clear vinyl LP, hat one is still in place where the images are missing. The band photos I have gotten are mostly bad, with some you cant see how it is at all.

I would love to be able to edit them myself.

The files holding the images are in the Album Artwork folder, but they are itc files, I have no clue how to edit those, that would be nice to be able to do.

One change with the new update is that it seems like they fixed that when an album is done playing it starts the album below and does not just go random crazy like it has been ding for a wile, that is at least a nice change.

Last month I suggested to Apple's drop box two things for the desktop iTunes:

1. A larger circle, because I can not figure out who is who.

2. Instead of grabbing an artist from iTune store and some pictures are a joke, display one of the albums.

Exactly how displays some of the 3rd party EQ on my iPhone.

But apparently, the developers do not listen to some of the users voices.

Missing artist thumbnails, huge non-adjustable album artworks, 5-star rating system gone on iOS10...

Apple is trying to tell you that you have no options, that they make the decisions for you regardless of your preferences and we are still there, complaining. If Apple was a government we would now all be refugees.

So look elsewhere.
