Artist Photos Missing in iTunes 12.5.1

This issue will never be fixed unless iTunes will take the artist photo from one of your CDs or converted digital file from the LP and display in their tiny round circle window. Rather than pooling out of their database, that will not all the artists.

Why don't they allow us to paste any picture from our own choice as we can for the album covert art???

Why can't we have the best of both worlds - default to Apple artist image (at least where there is one) but allow users to select from associated album artwork. Doesn't seem that hard...

Same here. This is super annoying and I'm ****** at Apple. I've also had problems getting songs onto my iPhone 7 that I just bought. I aslo know that a lot of the songs that do have artists showing instead of this silly microphone icon have not been purchased through iTunes.

Apple is going downhill fast since becoming a mainstream consumer giant. iTunes is full of bugs and maintaining an iTunes library is proving to be more time than it's worth.

Why are folk still banging on about it being purchased music that's showing instead of mic? I've no purchased music. It's random across 3 Devices. We are doing around in **** circles. It's got F*** all to to whether purchased or not

Since the last update (12.5.3) I've started seeing a lot more artist photos filling in. So whatever they've updated since 12.5.1 is slowly fixing the blank icons for me.

It seems that this irritating issue is slowly starting to be fixed. I'm getting more and more artists pictures everyday, but there is still a lot of missing pictures. I'd like Apple to inform about this bug or strange policy.

This blows. Apple keeps removing features and adding new ones that no one needs. The artists are only showing at random with no logic as to which ones actually get their photos added. What was wrong with the previous version? Nothing, but we had to fix it for you. I highly doubt that Apple will be able to add photos for all of my artists, since they can't even disseminate between The Alley Cats doo wop fifties band and The Alley Cats the great 80's band. C'mon Apple get your poop in a group.

I see the problem to be solved one way only. To have a control to place an artist yourself, or display an artist photo as one of the albums or downloaded songs from other places than iTunes. I think Apple doesn't think that it's a major issue, otherwise it would be fixed a long time ago.

I noticed this also. I counted the number of .itc files in the /store sub folder and compared it to the number of artists in my library. It seems that approximately 50% of the artists have now a picture to be displayed in the "by artist" view.

But it will never be 100% and some of the displayed pictures are just crap according to me! Too small or not easily recognizable to be of some help...

We need to be able to choose ourself the picture we want to display there. That's the only way to put an end to this stupid situation.

Keep on providing feedback to Apple on the feedback web page. We need to be heard by iTunes developers.

I'm afraid that not only Apple considers this as not a big issue at all, but also that they are convinced this new behavior is a major user experience improvement! A new way to enrich our live!!! 😕

Just don't upgrade to their newest software all the time!!!!!!! I'm staying with last know version of iTunes that shows artist view square thumbnail pictures. Not sure they understand how our libraries are ours and important to each individual as to how they arrange and display it. Too much forcing things on us I.E. the U2 album. Let us decide on our own content.

But if you have a brand new iPhone you will be forced to install iTunes 12.5.x to sync it...
