iOS 10 update error

I updated my iPad Pro 9.7 and iPhone 6s and both devices now request to connect to iTunes. Once connected, I get a message that an error has occurred and that a restore is necessary. It reverts back to iOS 9.3.5

This is the first time this happens.

What is doing on?

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 10, null

Do you have an apple store nearby? or a friend you can borrow theirs for the update?

Can't connect to iTunes on W10 as well... don't get any message :-(
