cannot detect iphone after update to 12.5.1.21

Open device manager, find portable devices, click on small arrow to open it up. Select Apple iPhone. right click and select update driver software. Click browse and find C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers. The system will update the driver and the device will appear in iTunes.

Thanks. Exactly the same issue. Running Windows 10, version 1607. Updated to iOS10 yesterday, updated to iTunes 12.5.1.21 today, and would not recognise iPhone 6 or iPad mini.

Followed steps 1 to 9 as above, and problem solved.

Same thing happened to me. Just uninstall all Apple programs from control panel. Then reinstall iTunes. Hope it helps!

Computer illiterate here.. You mention you have to click on Have Disk and find usbaapl64. Where do you find that? I click on Have Disk and am lost at that point.

It should be in one or other of the two locations mentioned in step 6 of my earlier post to the thread.

I had the same problem and followed the steps that you have mentioned. But now I cannot see it as a portable device. It used to earlier show up as portable device as well as in iTunes, not just one of the places. How to make sure that it is recognisable both ways?

I have the same problem. I found my "Apple iPhone" under portable devices. When I try to update it, it says the driver is up to date.

Please some one help me to solve this. I am not able sync anything to iPhone 6 plus & iPad Air 2.??
