iOS 10 Mail delete all function?

I Have just installed the new ios10 update and for some reason have lost the delete/trash all function in the mail app.

The delete button is greyed out and when you select all, you can only flag a post of mark as read/unread.

Am I missing something?

iPhone 6, iOS 10

Hi, I assume you found a way to solve this but I had same problem and found this solution .. just in case anyone else is looking ..

- go to inbox

- click on edit

- select the top message only

- select the MOVE button at the bottom and hold it

- unselect the top message

- all messages will go into one and open in a fresh window - it will tell you how many there are - then click on the trash can below it .. all mail in that inbox will be deleted

I agree the "delete all" has been removed. Why??? I went to the apple genius counter (one hour wait) only for them to tell me that it's not their problem. That your email provider is the culprit. ........Okay, so I went to the Microsoft store (I have an outlook msn account) and they tell me it's an Apple issue. Go figure. Who's right? Any knowledgable IT out there that can shed light on this?

Obviously this community is not read by Apple people, only users. The problem and the workaround have been around since ios 10 was released. The trash/delete all function is avaliable in the junk and trash boxes, but not in others. The workaround works, I for one have notified Apple through their support channel, but never any response. Has anyone called Applecare. I saw one note that someone had talked to Apple and was told the "all" capability was removed from the inbox and archive box so people wouldn't delete all their email Of course, it goes straight to the trash box, so what's not to find? Is there no direct channel to Apple or are they avoiding us. Apple users are supposed to be smart enough not to need "protection!"
