Activity sharing not working at all

I'm having problems with activity sharing. I have two friends, both are on iOS 10 and watchOS3. I can add them, they get the notification and agree and then NOTHING happens. The wheel in the activity app on iOS keeps spinning and spinning. Anyone experienced this? Tried to delete the invitations and re-submit, but not working either.

I Have this same issue. I have rebooted my phone, unlinked my watch, killed the app resent invite but nothing has worked. The person I'm trying to share with has also rebooted his phone, unlinked his watch and killed the app But no luck. I can successfully share with my daughter but no one else. Pleae help with a solution.

Ok, but this is a workaround to the problem, not a fix. I did the above, and Activity sharing started working. However, several days later, the problem has resurfaced. I see Apple have approved your solution, but I really hope they don't think this is an end to it. There's a bug in there that needs fixing.

Reading all your posts I supposde that I have the activity sharing problem because I am logged in iCloud with the older Apple ID @mac.com. I solved the problem performing a logout from iCloud (Settings->iCloud on the iPhone) and login using my "alias" account @icloud.com.

So you haven't tried the one thing that might work ?


Why won't you change your Apple ID email address ? It takes less than 5 minutes, it's probably easier and quicker than all the other things you have tried so far.


What are you worried about ?

Anyone figure this out? After I receive a invite from my bro it just spins.. I send it to him. His spins..

We have latest OS 10.1.1 and latest Watch OS 3.1. I have series 2 he has 1st Gen watch. We both have Iphone 6

We both have:

1. Unpaired and repaired - Didnt work

2. Then upgraded to latest software that came out 2 weeks ago. Said it fixed this issue

3. Restarted devices

4. Both have @icloud accounts

5. logged out of icloud and back into on iphones..



Still spins!!! Help please. I dont know anyone else with Apple watch so i cant really test on anyone else.

This also worked for me. Unpairing and re-pairing the watches did not work. Also, I suspect the method of changing the Apple ID to something else (like a gmail address)may be working for those of us who had the "me.com" email login. Didn't want to do that, so suggest trying the me to iCloud method.

In my earlier post, I forgot to mention I also removed old Apple Watch entries in my iCloud device list as mentioned in this discussion. You can do this on your iPhone by selecting Settings, iCloud, then click on your name at the top (which should have your "@icloud.com" address), then Devices, and remove any erroneous Apple Watch entries. I had my old Series 0 and a Series 1 that I had unpaired, but were still listed in my devices. Not sure if that helped in addition to logging out as "@me.com" and re logging in as "@icloud.com" but may be worth checking out.
