Bluetooth Connection Issues ios 10

Ever since upgrading to ios 10. My bluetooth connection in my car (2016 Hyundai Sonata) keeps connected and disconnecting every few minutes. This never happened pre-upgrade. Is anyone else experience this?

Ever since I upgraded to iOS 10 the trouble started.

1. When I try to answer an incoming call in my Nissan Maxima 2011, the phone freezes and the call gets disconnected in 10 secs.

2. The same happens if I try an outgoing call

3. In a rare case when the call goes through the car BT, the connection does not hold long enough and the call gets transferred to the handset inexplicably

I didn't know so many had the same issue as I.

HHave you updated to 10.3, which a lot of users said fixed the issue for them?

I found a workarround that is working in my case.

My issue is the drop calls while in a call. The call disconnects from the car audio and goes tonthe phone and a few seconds after returns to the car.

I tried all the things you can imagine and all the settings combinations and even a DFU restore.

I m using an Iphone 7 plus now with IOS 10.3 and Ford Sync 2 audio handsfree.

Updated to 10.3.1. No luck, still broke. 2009 Honda Accord. Will connect using Bluetooth to system but no sound through speakers. using iPhone 6s.

This broke on the iOS 10 release, system worked flawlessly on all ios 9 releases.

my opinion is apple would rather market messaging stickers to millennials than actually fix their product. This was my first iPhone. It probably will be my last due to this issue. We are now 8 months without a fix for an issue the programmers broke.

I have the same issue with my bluetooth connections. I suspect this issue pertains to the introduction of low energy BT. My biggest problem resulting from this tech glitch is that just like how car bluetooth connects and disconnects repeatedly, this same scenario happens with my Oticon Hearing Aids. I can't use the one function that I spent lots of money on a streamer device to facilitate this-using my hearing aids as a bluetooth headset for phone calls.

I can also connect these Aids to my phone to use with the GPS functions of my phone. This also disconnects and reconnects repeatedly. Here's why I believe the issue has to do with BT low-energy functions: I discovered that if I start streaming music (Spotify/Pandora), THEN open Waze and set my route, I no longer lose the BT connection for the use of GPS. Hmm, looks like streaming audio uses the hi-power BT connection, while phone and GPS uses the lo-power?

BTW-I have spent HOURS connected with Apple in this regard, and followed every recommendation. There is no fix, and no further info (not even encouragement that Apple realizes that this is an issue, or that they're working on it for a future fix). Looks like the fix is to go back to Android.

I agree it does not look as though Apple is going to fix the problem. My problem was occurring with a personal AT&T iPhone 7. I have since cancelled the AT&T phone and gone to a Verizon iPhone 7 provided by the company I work for and my problem is resolved. My wife is now using the AT&T iPhone 7 in her vehicle and there seems to be no issues with it losing BT connection. I know not everyone has the option to change phones but it seemed to work in this case. There are too many people with this problem for Apple to ignore it IMO.

Hi All,

I am using iphone 6s ios 10.3 connected to BMW 1 series 2013. I have Bluetooth hands-free, Bus Nav but not enhanced Bluetooth. So, I solved the problem by using TuneAir. It is working fine, also with incoming calls, can hear music via Bluetooth from car's loudspeakers and see titles on the idrive headscreen. This only by using of iphone playlists. But if I am trying to switch on to radio like TuneIn or Spotify etc then idrive does not work, can not control anymore to go back to playlist and finally is shutting down. I need to set Bluetooth off and reconnect. Solution for this: set Bluetooth off, start radio on iphone and then connect with Bluetooth. Now you can listen to radio, change stations from mobile, idrive is working properly and if you want you can switch to iPhone's playlist. However it is no more possible to go back to internet radio. You may continue listening the downloaded playlists. Ok, better than nothing! Let's hope that Apple will solve it.

Best Regards

Basile

While I am no techie, I was able to get the sound working.

I had this problem in my 2015 Subaru Forester--all of a sudden the sound on calls was muted but the bluetooth was working for music-- it would mute when a call came in but no sound on the call. I spent about 2 hours researching this...then I went back into car and while I was on a phone call pressed all of the buttons on the dashboard including the PTY button and the sound came back on. No idea which one worked! But if you have reached the end of this thread and nothing has worked...it is worth a try! And someone please tell me what the PTY button actually does! Is it the party button??
