MY wifi is randomly shutting off after ios 10 upgrade. Anyone elese?
iPad Air 2 WiFi, Cellular, iOS 10
I can't answer helpful to this But same issue iPhone 5s iOS 10.0.2. Wifi stopped working overnight. Not sure about after reboot as my phone has had an ongoing battery issue over several iOS update. The battery dies abruptly at approximately 30%. It's been approximately a year since the battery issue started and it's happening more and more frequently after each update. I was "using" the new bedtime feature in ios 10, but it never worked correctly and appears to do nothing. I also use night shift which has also been glitchy since it's introduction I use scheduled do not disturb as well. I suspect all or most of my iPhone issues are related to the newer iOS features...
Forget the usual fixes. Whoever figured out to put the iPad in airplane mode is a genius. Haven't had problem since. Apple needs to get this fixed
Been having this problem for a few days... Really annoying to say the least. Have had success by switching on airplane mode. Then switching wifi on. Then you have to do a hard restart (holding home and power until it reboots) then switching airplane mode off and wifi has stayed connected so far.
It's the problem with wifi driver, it keeps crashing intermittently.
I see that Apple has released iOS 10.1 now. Has anyone updated and noticed if this issue has been resolved??? I'm not quite convinced yet so I'm staying on iOS 9.3.5 for the moment.
Stick with 9. The 10.1 update did not resolve the dropping wifi issue on my phone.
I Did exactly same things as you and my iPad air2 still keeps, shutting the wifi off almost continually. Very disappointed in Apple support. I went to the Altamonte Springs, Fla store. Spent almost two hours there with no help For this problem.
That's not good to hear. I have spent several hours in web chats, phone calls, and visits to the Apple Store to talk directly to a "Genius" and had my iPad replaced (twice) because of this issue. They told me that they thought it was a hardware issue and that I must be the most unlucky guy to have two iPads with the same hardware fault... Even when I directed them to this thread, and several others they were adamant that it is not a software issue with iOS 10. I'm not sure about US regs, but here in Australia, there's some consumer laws with regards to faulty equipment if the device is under 2 years old. I'm not sure what you can do about it but I'd be going back to the Apple Store and speaking with someone. My new iPad is now running iOS 9.3.5 and I have no intention of upgrading to iOS 10.
I Cannot reset my network settings. Apple thinks I have time to enter all the previous passwords. Why don't they just fix this? My wifi dropped twice before I finished this line.
My company sent out an email today with regards to the latest iOS 10.1.1 update recommending we update as the wifi issue seems to have been solved. Just wondering if anyone else has done the latest update and what their results have been? Im currently updating my work iPad to iOS 10.1.1, however my personal device is staying put at 9.3.5 at this stage.
I have upgraded to 10.1.1 and there has been no improvement in this issue (wifi connection dropping very frequently on iphone6).
Apple still hasn't admitted that ios10 broke WiFi...Was using ios 9.3.5 on both my Sprint iphone 6 & my WiFi iPad Air2 and it worked great. I upgraded to 10.1.1 on the iPad and immediately the intermittent WiFi started which continues to this day. I held off on upgrading my iPhone6 until I could take the badgering from Apple no longer. My iPhone now has the same WiFi connection issue that the iPad had...No acknowledgement from Apple that its an issue, only arrogant replies that it has to be the wireless router or some hardware issue. Most people don't have access to the wireless sites they visit unless they own it. I use WiFi at my office but don't have access to IT and am having the same issue on public sites even when connection quality is excellent. There are dozens of anecdotal stories that this happened ONLY when ios10 was released yet the denials continue...Address this fairly large fail Apple!
BTW, Wifi has stopped no less than 5 times while describing the problem...
Agreed. iPhone6 constantly drops wifi at home, at office, everywhere even though signal strength is great. Can't watch a 45 min Netflix show without it dropping 7-10 times. WiFi Assist is off, did every troubleshooting suggestion with no improvement. Said I would never switch to Android, but my wife's Samsung Galaxy 6 has no such problem. Never drops. Considering making the switch now!
It's definitely not the wifi router(s); it's iOS10!!!
It is believed that the two models that come with intel modem have this problem. It has nothing to do with ios10 or above. It is a hardware problem!
