iOS 10 home screen wallpaper dimming

After upgrading my iPhone to iOS 10 i noticed the dimming of home screen wallpaper. Please refer to the attached pictures - it is clearly visible that home screen wallpaper is darker than lock screen wallpaper despite of the fact it is the same picture. Even in the wallpaper settings it is shown as darkened. I find it quite annoying but i didn't find any settings related to this darkening. I would appreciate any kind of advice how to get off from this dimming. Having the same problem –– it looks as if the wallpaper is being forced into a smaller RGB color space (possibly sRGB) if the original wallpaper image is in a color space with a larger gamut (e.g. Adobe RGB).

This is NOT solved. I'm on 10.2.1. All I have to do is open the picture in photo app and see and stark contrast between the original picture and the home screen. Apple doesn't care that so many people hate this 'feature'. They do what they want if we don't like it then we have to go somewhere else.

the only fix i found is to go into display and brightness settings and set to zoom then set back to standard. But as soon as your battery dips below a certain level it dims again. apparently its apples way of saving battery power since ios10 totally drains the battery. guess they want you to buy the 7. Im waiting for the 8. hope this helps

Dunno how to resolve this. Just making a reply to show that I'm also experiencing this issue. Kindly advise how can this be resolve. This is annoying. Thank you in advance apple for any update.

I noticed the same too with my 6plus and 6s. The screen is clearly 15-20% dimmer on iOS 10. Hope they release a patch soon--very frustrating.

I completely agree. I don't know why Apple doesn't do a better job with user acceptance testing before their releases. These thing could be identified and rectified up front. Very frustrating.

Well not for me. Now it's on the lockscren aswell. If you look at the picture on the photos app and than compare it to the home-/lockscreen you will notice a difference in brightne

How was this fixed? It still happens on my iPhone 5s and I'm on 10.2.1

It has not been fixed at all. I have zero confidence it ever will be fixed. It has been a problem since iOS 7.
