iPhone won't sync with iTunes after iOS 10 update - September 2016

I updated my iPhone 6 with the newest iOS 10 software. When I plug my phone into my macbook it says "iTunes could not connect to the iPhone “Katie's iPhone” because an invalid response was received from the device. I have updated my macbook and iTunes, restarted all devices, tried different usb ports etc. Is anyone else having this problem?

After upgrading my iPhone 6plus to iOS 10.1, my MacBook Pro running Mavericks can recognize my iPhone. The problem is that I sync my phone with my Macpro 1,1 running OSX 10.7.5 Lion.

Not only would it no longer sync with iTunes (which will only update to iTunes 12.1) it would not communicate with my Macpro AT ALL. To download images/videos from my phone using Images app on the computer no longer worked. It wouldn't event recognize the phone.

Luckily I was able to downgrade back to iOS 9... No my phone communicates with my MacPro again.

I keep getting the notifications to update. And I keep deleting the update. And it keeps coming back. But I WILL NOT update until I can figure out how to make it work with my Macpro Tower.

Complete bull crap!!!

I am ****** crazy about it!!

I bought 3 days ago, an IPhone 6s for my wife, when I go to start to use and do a restore from the iPhone 4 , iTunes doesn't recognized!!

But, my iPhone 6s Plus, was ok , and was updated to iOS 10.2, I was able to backup, Edit playlists... everything, but... when I tried to connect the iPhone 6s Brand new, iTunes didnt recognize , and when I tried the iPhone 6s Plus , it didn't recognize too , since it I never connected with iTunes anymore!!! Very ******!!!

Apple support says that I will have to update iTunes but it isn't possible, because my Mac Pro only supports 10.7.5 which works with itunes 12.2

I have the same problem - an old Macbook that cannot take any more upgrades and iTunes v12.2. Clearly Apple is aware of this situation and they choose not to address it. The last thing I will do i buy another Apple product if they dont fix this. They should have warned us that upgrading iOS would prevent use of early versions of iTunes.

in the meantime I am exploring other more customer friendly music services that can replace iTunes.

Steve Jobs must be spinning in his grave at what this company has turned into.

Hello. I am curious if you lost anything off of your computer and how exactly do I update my Mac to the El Capitan? It sounds like you have the exact setup and then the same problem after upgrading my phone. I used to just plug in and connect to iphoto and itunes and now neither will work. I would gladly update my Mac just want to make sure I can and won't lose my photos. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
