iPhone 7 animation lag...

I think if you take them back until ios 11. There are already 3 update and nothing has changed. It will end as the 6s plus with ios 9.3 that had lagged in 3d touch.

I know this has been said before but for everybody that is pulling their hair out trying to get their phone to stop the lag just try this if you have not tried it before. Start as a new phone and do not turn on triple click. My phone is now really fast when I hit the home button. There is no lag anywhere. But then again I could just have a fortunate experience and it may not work for everybody but if you have not tried it it's worth trying.

I think some people are mixing up two different kinds of "lag".

The first one is the issue where it takes too much time after hiting the home button for an app to close. Known as delay, but most people reffere to it as lag.

The second one is a stutter in the app closing animation, seen in these two videos

10.2 Beta 3 iOS some improvement in the animations of multitasking but not there yet, I reiterate this issue 7 iPhone brings it back up to 11 iOS

Hi, i think i may have found the solution, this happens when im playing around with my wife's iPhone 7 Plus, im noticing that the animation on my wife's iPhone when pressing the home button is slightly faster than mine, im wondering why my iPhone lag behind when pressing the home button, tried to find the solution on the internet but couldn't find anything, then i figured out its actually because of my TRIPLE CLICK BUTTON on accessibility setting, then i DISABLE it, TURN OFF TRIPLE CLICK BUTTON, im my case my triple click button is Magnifier, then i turn it off, VOILA my iPhone animation back to normal as fast as it should be on iPhone 7 Plus, Setting - Accessibility - Accessibility Shortcut - Turn it off, thats it.

I swear to god if another person mentions 'triple click'!!!! This does not fix the sluggish animation speeds on the 7Plus that we are describing! When you open an app it is smooth, but when you are inside the app and do something within said app and then close it, the animation is jittery and sluggish. It has been improved on since iOS 10.2 but is still not as smooth as my 6S plus. I HAVE triple click off

I understand you perfectly. Disable the triple click not solve the problem

When I got my new iPhone 7 Plus, during the initial setup, all those new features were demonstrated and one of those was this triple click magnifier. It was new to me so I turned it on. This means that I never got to see my iPhone without Magnifier-triple-clicked turned on, so to me it was really bizarre seeing the lag(s). I have an iPhone 7+ 128 GIG and have the same issues. I noticed when I go into settings, general, accessiblity, increase contrast and toggle that to "on" it seems to reduce the lag quite a lot. There is still a slight amount of lag but it reduces the problem significantly for me at least. If anyone else tries this please let me know what happens for you. If your lag is also reduced, no change, or lag increases.. thanks

Also I toggled animations from "on" to "off" to back "on" and that seemed to help even more. As of right now my device is as soomth as my 6s is possibly even more so.. let me know if anyone else finds this to be at all helpful thanks.

I confirm with contrast enhancement greatly improves everything. We know that transparency creates more work to gpu. Apple should opt for a clean solution without trsparenze and with different animations.

I bought iPhone 7 Saturday and also I have a big lag when I go to HOME APP by a double click: the Apple Store have told me that it is Iphone 7 fault that is too fast 😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠😠

if you want minimal LAG the only way is to clean install ipsw 10.1, for me it worked well

Yes, I tried it and not solve the problem. I went an Apple Store an all the iPhone 7 plus have the same lag.
