Music won't download on iOS 10

In iOS 10 my music won't download to my new phone (iPhone 6S). When I go to a playlist and hit the download button all the circles start spinning next to the songs and they also go under the downloading section but none ever actually download.

I found a workaround where under the downloading section I went to an individual song and stopped the download circle and hit it again - and it would download. Cumbersome. But then I checked the next day and those had disappeared for some reason. So even the bad workaround isn't working.

I also tried shutting off iCloud Music Library and turning it back on but that didn't fix the problem.

I figured out the issue and found a workaround until Apple fix this bug

this problem occurs if you lost your internet connection while downloading songs

to be able do start downloading again follow these steps

1- make sure you cancel all downloads in process "all spinning circles" ( go to downloaded music then downloading and cancel anything there)

2- reset network settings (go to settings -> general -> reset-> reset network settings-> and enter you passcode)

3- connect to your wifi network

4- go to music and start downloading

Just make sure you don't lose the wifi connection while download is in process if you will go out of wifi range stop downloads and start them again when you're back

Thanks for your fix to the buggy mess called Apple Music.

It's hard to enjoy music (little m) when Music (big M) is such an unstable frustration....

With about 800 DRM managed songs I have to repeat your process over and over (I get about 30 songs at a time before the process freezes - sometimes just 3)

What a colossal waste of my vacation! Thanks Apple!

Hi, I am having the same problem too. I tried all the suggestions in this post, but they did not work.

The problem I am having is that some of my music (including all of the purchases I made since July) are showing as purchased in the iTunes store, but they do not show up in the "purchased" section of the store app (only on the main storefront), so I am unable to add them to my library or download them. This issue happened when I deleted everything from my library to start fresh after cancelling my Apple Music subscription, and after letting the subscription expire. These purchases also don't show up on my apple TV or iTunes on my PC either.

I just want to add my name to the list, so hopefully the forum moderators see this as a potentially growing problem. Hopefully this issue will be fixed in the near future, along with whatever other issues they are working on.

Hi, I Submitted a ticket to Apple for my problem, and they replied with a link to show how to hide and unhide music. It appears that when you remove an item from your library, it "hides" the item in the iCloud. So if you want it back in your library, you have to "unhide" it. This solved my problem, and I was able to download the newly unhidden music too. Here is the link to the how-to for anyone else with the same problem as me:
