iPhone 7 gps and cell dropping

So, had my new phone for about 4 hours now and have had both GPS and cell service drop at the same time at least 8 times- typically only for about 2 minutes but as I was traveling and using navigation it was very difficult. Anyone else had this problem?

"No service" "Searching..." and sometimes completely blank on top left corner randomly.

Iphone 7 128GB with ATT.

have tried:

- Replacing SIM card

- Reseting phone

- Toggling Airplane mode

- Enable LTE to "data only"

- Updating software

- Updating carrier

Nothing has fixed this issue. I live in Houston, Texas. Cell tower very close to where I live and Service still drops when

i'm at home and stationary. I have talked to ATT support and Everything shows good on their end. I have talked to

apple support and all diagnostics check okay when phone has service but have not been able to explain why service is

dropping randomly. This problem has been occurring for 3 weeks and now seems to have gotten worse. My Iphone 7

hasn't had service for about 5 hours now, longest duration yet. Was hoping to find solutions but I have not found any

success.

This thread originated with problems after the introduction of the iPhone 7 about a year ago. If you are having connection problems now, on the current version of iOS (10.3.3), then you need to get this solved through Apple and/or ATT. Other than what you've tried there's not much to do.

I can only recommend you back up the iPhone, and then activate it as a new iPhone. See if the problem persists. If it does then Apple or ATT should replace it. Apple may ask you to do this before replacing it. If not, then your iPhone backup image may be corrupted or damaged.

Congratulations on your new iPhone 7 too! I know when I have GPS turned on, I need it to work as I'm lousy with directions. I like to see my next turn before it comes up. Since your GPS and cell service are tied together somewhat, I'll be glad to help with both.

If you can‘t connect to a cellular network or cellular data -- Since your carrier signal is dropping, here are the steps to remedy the situation.

Same problem here, although I lose GPS signal more frequently than cell signal. Hard restarting the iPhone 7+ (by pressing the sleep and volume down) button fixes the problem for a few minutes, and then the GPS signal is lost again.

As was mentioned in someone else's previous post, this is noticeable in Waze because Waze will tell you when there is no or weak GPS signal. In Apple Maps I can tell that GPS isn't working because my location is way off or slow to update (probably using cell towers for positioning).

Adding some trouble shooting that I've done so far:

  • Resetting Network Settings - No Effect
  • Remote Diagnostics with Apple Support - No Issue shown to Apple
  • Verizon Reset (thats what they called it, not really sure what they did on their side) - No Effect
  • Turning off LTE - Positive results
  • Factory reset - Doing this today, will have to update later with results

So far turning off LTE service on the phone led to my signal not dropping on my commute to work, where it was dropping three to five times in either direction with LTE on. I just did my factory reset and will see what happens on my drive home later.
