Upgrading to iOS 10 breaks Save Image from emails

After upgrading to iOS 10, I can no longer tap and hold on an image received and displayed inside a Mail message to Save Image to my camera roll from a pop-up menu. Instead, it appears to only be able to save the text of the URL associated with the image. Ditto for images from websites in Safari.

This absolutely works on iPhone 6 so that is good as far as it goes. I imagine it works on any device that has the 3D Touch feature.Unfortunately Apple really needs to understand the concept of "if it ain't broke don't fix it". Even though this solution works if you have 3-D, I suspect is true they have broken it for everyone who does not.For those who do have the feature, I suspect many like me have had to waste at a great deal of time figuring out what the heck they have done. My reason for being With Apple for years has been I spent most of my time working and less time fiddling which was always the problem with PCs and windows.I have already abandoned my MacBook Pro for windows 10 because Apple is starting to look so much more like Microsoft and Google . If they keep this up I will probably move to android on the next pass since the only justification for paying apples exorbitant prices is because they used to be so much more efficient and add free.

I had this problem. I kept trying to save my photo and the three step process did not work. (I am not tech savvy so this is for people out there like me.) It suddenly dawned on me that the photo I was trying to save was taken in 2016. In My Photos I scrolled back to the date it was taken and, lo, there was my saved photo — all six copies of it ( the number of times I was attempting to “save image”. I hooe this helps others for whom computer operation does not come easy.

Got it. You have to use the 3-D Touch options, some of which i'm finding are quite useful.

touch and hold on th image until the image comes to the foreground. Notice an upward arrow at this point. Without letting up yet, slide the image up. A box with the options of 'save image' and 'copy' appear. choose save image, and find it in your photos app. HOORAY!

This is simply not true. First of all, there is no 3-D touch on an iPad. On an iPhone, deep-pressing a remote HTML image embedded in an email results in a mini-Safari preview window of that page opening up, with no menu available. A simple tap and hold of that same image results in a menu popping up that allow you to do multiple actions, none of which include saving the image to your Camera Roll as was previously available in iOS 9.

The bigger question is why the world of iPhone users accepts this disrespect and ineptitude so readily. Every time Apple screws up, they make no apologies nor do they even bother to notify those affected there is a problem. The repeated screw-ups are bad enough. Ignoring customers affected by these is arrogance to the highest degree. Wake up people.

Yes, that's correct and that option works fine. However, if there are several images included within the email, and you select the button than gives the option to same XX many images, it only seems to allow you to save a maximum of 5 images at a time. After 5, you have to save the remaining images one at a time.
