Upgrading to iOS 10 breaks Save Image from emails

After upgrading to iOS 10, I can no longer tap and hold on an image received and displayed inside a Mail message to Save Image to my camera roll from a pop-up menu. Instead, it appears to only be able to save the text of the URL associated with the image. Ditto for images from websites in Safari.

This absolutely works on iPhone 6 so that is good as far as it goes. I imagine it works on any device that has the 3D Touch feature.Unfortunately Apple really needs to understand the concept of "if it ain't broke don't fix it". Even though this solution works if you have 3-D, I suspect is true they have broken it for everyone who does not.For those who do have the feature, I suspect many like me have had to waste at a great deal of time figuring out what the heck they have done. My reason for being With Apple for years has been I spent most of my time working and less time fiddling which was always the problem with PCs and windows.I have already abandoned my MacBook Pro for windows 10 because Apple is starting to look so much more like Microsoft and Google . If they keep this up I will probably move to android on the next pass since the only justification for paying apples exorbitant prices is because they used to be so much more efficient and add free.

You can touch Save Image, but it doesn't go to Photos. Where does it get saved? This is very frustrating. I can no longer save photos of family or friends. I also can't save images of photos in Safari. When copied, it only saves the link not the image. I hope Apple puts the Save Image process back in. Is there any way to go back to IOS 9?

There has not been much progress with this issue. When I hold down on a message in mail, it will now save up to 5 images but no more and it won't save just one image. I can't save image's in Safari, which I used to. At least I can still save images on FB. I have many family members sharing photos, and now it's difficult to save them.

Apple took a relatively easy process and made it complicated or non existent. I'm thinking of switching to Microsoft Surface.

Yes I'm experiencing the same problem. I thought possibly it was an issue with the IOS 10 upgrade on my old iPhone but I have now purchased the iPhone 7 plus and it's just the same. It took me a while to work out that you had to 'extended hold' (but gently) on an image attached to email to bring up the 'save x images' option. But the main problem/bug remains i.e. even if it SAYS 'save 23 images' (yes it can count) it doesn't!!! Whatever the number of images attached to the email, and although it knows how many there are and correctly downloads and displays them......it only saves FIVE (5) to camera roll. As a photographer who regularly emails myself dozens of images at a time in order to get them onto the phone for social media use this is a big problem!
