iPhone 7 front camera flickering HDR during FaceTime

This is happening to me as well!!! It is soooo annoying! i facetime my son everyday for a while and it is very noticeable. i would like a replacement ASAP!

Just for the record: Same problem here (iPhone 7, 128GB, IOS 10.1.1.)

• Updated to very latest IOS version, factory re-setting and re-back-up: no improvement

• Called Apple Hotline: "Problem unknown – wait for next update"......as usual when they don't have a solution

• Went to Apple store who finally replaced device: same problem; could not test a third unit, as no more stock. Ordered new replacement and await delivery; meanwhile they are checking internal experts for answers.

Looks as if we need to sit this out until a next IOS update, but wondering how many phones are affected; judging the numbers of posts here, its only a smaller percentage....?

Lets keep on posting to make them take this problem seriously.

Sadly, same here, plus an earphone problem. Apple's solution for everything seems to be Restore to Factory Settings then restore from backup. Doesn't work.

One work around for me is. While FaceTime is running, rotate to the normal camera briefly and then back to the self-facing camera. Seems to stop the flickering temporarily.

I have the same problem. The flickering problem (more precisely, rapid dimming and brightening of the screen) occurs both in video recording (both the front and rear camera) and facetime chatting. I suspect the problem is due to software issues since Skype video chatting is OK for me. I hope the problem would be quickly considered by Apple and we see the correction in the future updates.

Was able to get the problem solved by strongly insisting on a replacement of my new iPhone 7 at the Apple store: After lengthy trials, the third replacement unit finally functioned properly.

This indicates that the source could be hardware-related after all.....or a combination of s/w and h/w.

Let's hope we hear from Apple soon.

Same issue. Really annoying. The exposure is constantly changing when using the front facing camera during FaceTime. I have a iPhone 7 Plus 128 Gb Never had this issue with my previous iPhones. If anyone finds a fix please let me know. I may take it in to AppleCare so they can see for themselves.

That's why I'm not taking my phone in to get "serviced", which was recommended on yet another support chat with Apple. I have several issues with this iPhone 7 Plus and I don't understand that these aren't being addressed by Apple. So far I've done everything they've asked, including wasting hours in resetting the thing, setting up as new and so on. Nothing has worked. If new phones have the same problem thenhow on earth will the issue be fixed?

I got a new iphone 7 + 128g. I am having the same issue. The rotation and switching cameras trick that others mentions stops the flickering during the call. However if I switch to another apps and then back the flickering returns. I repeat the tricks to get it to stop. If I start a new FT call it returns. So the workaround works, but it is annoying. I am at the latest release with a factory install. So I guess we wait and see. I am just reporting to add to the awareness count that there is an issue with these phones.

I have the same problem with my FaceTime video. Had phone replaced and the problem exists on this new phone too. 7 Plus. So frustrating

For all of you, whether you received new phones or still have originals, did you restore a backup when you got your phone? I'm wondering why all iPhone 7 users aren't complaining about this issue (maybe they don't use FaceTime?).

So has anyone tried a clean install (use a new phone) and didn't see such issue?
