Q: Problem with iPhone 7Plus, lightning to audio connector and inline controls

I have the same problem with my iPhone7, when you unplug the jack and plug it in again it wil work.

After setting the music off with the control, you can put it on again, but when you wait to long but when waiting to long it will not respond any more till you unplug and plug the jack in again.

I have contacted support and it seems to be a software bug.

Just tested @Meis71's suggestion on my QC25s and it worked. As long as I freshly unplug and plug in the controls and the mic will start to work. It seems to time out though. So this has to be repeated every once in a while if you are not actively using them.

I have a non-plus iPhone 7 and I'm having this problem too, exactly as described. The thing is that it also occurs with Apple's own 3.5mm ear pods, so it's not just related to 3rd-party headphones.

I am having the same issue, Primary app is Audible but once it stops responding it does not work with any other app until the plug is removed from either the iPhone or from the 3.5mm jack. I am using Bose SoundTrue Ultra in-ear headphones, however even the EarPods with Lightning Connector have similar similar issues just more random.

I have the same issue with the lightning headphones that come in the box. I have noticed that I can hear a "disconnect" in the headphones after a bit of idle time. I have considered that this is a power saving feature.

The only fix right now, that I know of, is to unplug and plug them back in. This is especially annoying when you have answered a phone call and they can't hear you since the mic is "disconnected"

I too have this issue w/ Bose headphones.

Apple has today released an update (10.0.2) for iOS, which addresses an issue that could affect headphone audio controls.

Update the iOS software on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

It seems to work with the new update
